OPEN CALL! Deadline for Entry Jan 21, 2019

Theme:
For being such a short month, there’s a lot going on in February. From Presidents Day, to Black History Month, to Groundhog Day, and Valentines Day, to all the important historical figure’s birthdays; like George Washington, Abe Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, and Rosa Parks. It’s a pretty packed month. It’s also National American Heart Disease awareness month. Eating Disorder Awareness week is in February, as is National Condom Week and National Cancer Day. (We give heart disease a month, condoms a week, and cancer a day. And we wonder why we haven’t cured cancer yet?) A lot of important people died in February also, like Malcolm X, Sid Vicious, and Andy Warhol to name a few. Anyway, the point is, it’s an odd month where we celebrate and recognize several historical births and deaths, black history, love and affection, heart disease, a groundhog’s shadow and condoms. So what better way for Delurk to celebrate February than with a show about love, hope, life, death, rodents, prophylactics, spirit... and spirits? EIDOLONS! Which incidentally not only means spirits or phantoms, but also means idealized people or things. A weird word for a weird month. On that note; “Eidolon” is the show! Interpret it as you will... and submit art!

THE HELLHOLE STORE (PHILLY)
((Darko the Super & ialive))
----------------------------------------
The dynamic duo of Darko the Super and ialive joined forces while on tour for Already Dead's family reunion in Kalamazoo, MI. Their humble beginnings took shape recording in a hotel room at the now famous, Knights Inn. Taking their name from a Das Racist lyric, the buddy comedic stylings of The Hell Hole Store range from absurdly satirical to more serious social commentary on the problems plaguing our society and humanity. No strangers to shady promoters and sketchy venues, The Hell Hole Store strive to better their predicaments as artists, yet know how to make fun of themselves and the situations they find themselves in as performers. There's both a positive worldview and pessimism developed in the chemistry of the Hell Hole Store. If one dreads existence, the other will always be there to cheer them up, as friendship is what keeps this store afloat.

TORITO (PHILLY)
----------------------------------------
Whether in his grungy basement studio or on the shoddy stage of a local watering hole, Torito provides a deluge of multisyllabic wit, absurdist imagery, personal musing, and societal reflection. It's a bit like observing a psychotherapy session in which the shrink foregoes the typical elevator music/Yanni/nature sounds playlist in favor of a carefully curated beat set, and the patient attempts to keep a partial grasp of reality, voices all of his thoughts in complex internal rhyme schemes, and wears a leather bull mask.

VISITOR10 (PHILLY)
----------------------------------------
Visitor10 is many many things. This magick man-MC takes you on a wild ride with an occult theme set up, designed to truly Illuminate the inner love inside yourself. Happy daily birthday!

MACK PAPERS (GREENSBORO)
----------------------------------------
Mack Papers is a tried and true North Carolina MC. Hailing from Greensboro, he has been shaking things up on the DIY scene for some time now. Get schooled.

GRANT LIVESAY (WS)
----------------------------------------
Grant Livesay is a member of the Fella collective, now on a solo mission, this genius takes his chill vibes and beautiful soundscapes right to that sweet spot in your cranium.

SPEAK N' EYE (WS)
((Emceein' Eye & Unspeakable))
----------------------------------------
Speak N Eye are a cosmically conscious hip hop brother duo from Winston-Salem, they serve up raps on a hot plate with passionate punk rock energy and an intense high energy show.

Elder Ones Quartet

Elder Ones Quartet

Special Music event!

Elder Ones is the quartet performing the compositions of vocalist Amirtha Kidambi (Mary Halvorson’s Code Girl/Elizabeth-Caroline Unit). Situated in concentric musical circles and communities in New York City, her collaborators saxophonist Matt Nelson (Battle Trance/Tune-Yards), bassist Brandon Lopez (Nate Wooley Quartet) and drummer Max Jaffe (JOBS/Kid Millions) have crossed paths in the DIY underground and permutations of free improvisers in
clubs and concert halls across New York City.

The instrumentalists chosen for this project draw from a wide variety of vocabularies from hip-hop to the avant-garde, each bringing their highly individual language to the group. The quartet uses composed material and loose structures for improvisation, over a bed of Indian harmonium drones and synthesizer like non-
idiomatic playing on the instrument. Oscillating between worlds of Raga and microtonality, to jagged rhythmic precision and punishing brutality, Thyagaraja, Alice Coltrane or Stockhausen could be equally suspect sources of their sound.
