Kelly L. Taylor

Kelly L. Taylor makes paintings–combinations of curious objects, emphasized by light and shadow, sometimes accompanied by abstract expressionist elements.

Kelly’s abstracts encourage you to question the validity of your own perceptions; her still life pictures prompt you to reminisce. Whimsical clowns, coquettish kewpie dolls, and other toys instill a sense of childish playfulness, asserting that there is still good among the wreckage.

A transplanted Upstate New Yorker, and former Bostonian, Kelly is a graduate of Guilford College in Greensboro, NC where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus in oil painting and an AB in English. She has been active in the Triad’s art community, exhibiting work in local galleries and participating in artist collaboratives since 2010.
